Ágora Cultural Architects, Afro-Caribbean Cultural Center & Mattatuck Museum present Flora Campesina
Flora Campesina celebrates the roots of Puerto Rican folk music from a young and contemporary perspective. The concert will be the official presentation of Fabiola's fourth album and is part of a ten-concert tour that includes cities such as San Juan, Boston, Hartford, Philadelphia, and Chicago, among others.
The primary instrumentation, vocals, Puerto Rican cuatro, bass, and percussion, will take listeners on a musical journey that connects iconic folk styles and melodies with various Afro-Caribbean rhythms and jazz influences. These new sonorities invite us to rediscover how our country music continues to be a relevant and powerful way to tell our stories and connect with our identities.
